Prof. Zhongkai Wang is the executive director of Biomass Molecular Engineering Centre (BMEC), Anhui Agricultural University. He is also the winner of Distinguished Young scholars in Anhui Province and member of the Professional Committee of Natural Fiber Composite Material. Prof. Wang currently leads a research group focusing on the development of polymeric materials from agriculture and forestry biomass. Research interests include the synthesis of novel polymeric materials such as elastomers, epoxy resin and functional polyamide derived from agricultural and forestry biomass; design and develop biomass-based polymer materials to mimic human skin and resilin. Prof. Wang received his B.S. degree in Polymer Science and Engineering from Hefei University of Technology in 2009 and Ph.D. in Material and Processing Engineering from University of Science and Technology of China in 2014. After working with Dr. Chuanbing Tang as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of South Carolina, he joined the Department of Material Science and Engineering, Anhui Agricultural University in 2016. Recently, Prof. Wang and his colleagues established Biomass Molecular Engineering Center (BMEC). He was selected as executive director. His Research was funded by National Natural Science Foundation (51603002, 51773001). Recent awards include Wanjiang Young Scholars (2017), Awards and Subsidy for high-level talents introduction in Anhui Province (2017), Leading Talents of Heifei (2018).
